A mixture of chicken joints and home-baked sliced chicken breast(!)

Beef platter

A mixture of sliced roast beef and sliced salt beef

Homemade scotch eggs

quails eggs coated in pork meat and breadcrumbs and air fried (low cholesterol!)

Home-baked ham

Gammon ham baked by your host using her secret recipe!

Fish platter

Rolled titbits of smoked salmon surrounded by lettuce cups filled with prawn cocktail dusted in paprika. It was acceptable in the 80’s!

Beef pasties

Again, as the title says, pastry filled mini beef pasties.

Vegetarian selection

Salad platter

Tomatoes on a bed of mixed lettuce leaves (oooh fancy!)

Homemade coleslaw

White cabbage and carrots, mixed with English mustard, white wine vinegar and mayonnaise

Bread and butter

Slices French stick with English butter. I feel a battle coming on!

Cheese board

A selection of your finest cheeses, including all your favourites like cheddar, Stilton and brie, plus some guest ‘poncey’ ones hand-picked by your host

Homemade potato salad

Salad potatoes, tossed(!) in mayonnaise, chopped shallots and white wine vinegar

Olives

A trio of Spanish olives coated in extra virgin(!) oil

Cheese and onion pasties

Pastry coating a filling of cheese and, unsurprisingly, onion!
